Q. I don’t agree with the damage modifiers on the to-hit locations. Why is the torso -1D instead of the arms?
A. More mass. Q. What are the correct stats of a Thermal Detonator, as I have seen them published differently in different supplements (i.e. blast radius)?
A. See pages 233-234 of the main rules (and doesn’t Thermal Force know that off by heart). Q. How does one calculate the rate of climbing? Is the climbing skill used to calculate this? If so – how?
A. Same answer as swimming; 1/3 movement. Q. How does combat work underwater? What is the speed code of a character swimming? Is this based on the swimming skill in some way?
A. R&E p. 101 – swimming is at 1/3rd Move. Q. In all entries for weapons that I have found, the Rate of Fire weapons is listed as one (1). Why did you do this now in the new rules, but still say that people can still do multiple action in a round with a cumulative -1D after the first action? (ed. You’ll have to interpret this one. Just give us the full rules with Rate of Fire).
A. Rate of Fire refers to how many shots per round a weapon can be fired, except in the main rules, where the inclusion of an RoF for the personal weapons was an error. Q. Can you make a called hit against any scale except character? For Star Destroyer or specifically hitting the engines of a fighter?
A. Check out the Ship Location Targeting rules in Pirates and Privateers. Q. How much extra damage does a fire linked concussion missile launcher do? I know each extra laser does +1D damage, but that seems too week for a physical weapon like a concussion missile.
A. Hmm…yes it does, doesn’t it. I’d say add +1D per missile? Q. I have a droid player in my campaign, and I have often wondered how do you work out droid damage (e.g. damage to characters)?
A. Well, this should be interesting… I can’t believe I didn’t write that into the book! What the heck was I thinking? Okay…
One can extrapolate Droid Damage from pg 64 of SWRPG: R&E under the “Droid Repair” skill… There it states that droids can be Lightly Damaged, Heavily Damaged, Severly Damaged and Nearly Obliterated Droid Character Damage Effects Ionized (Stunned): (per stun) -1D for that round and the next round. (See R&E Character Damage Effects) Lightly Damaged (Wounded): Falls prone, no actions for the rest of the
round. -1D to all actions until repaired. Heavily Damaged (Wounded Twice): Falls prone, no actions for the rest of the round. -2D to all actions until repaired. Severely Damaged (Incapacitated): Falls prone, systems ionized for 10D
minutes (unconcious). If droid is wounded or incapacitated again it is
Nearly Obliterated. Nearly Obliterated (Mortally Wounded): Systems ionized (unconcious). Roll 2D after each round. If the roll is less than the number of rounds since the droid was Nearly Obliterated, the droid is destroyed.
Gamemasters may wish to come up with some random systems table for damage to droids.
Heavily damaged: 1 system lost.
Severly damaged: 1D systems lost.
Nearly obliterated: 2D systems lost.
Hope that helps!
