Daurek was born on Altobia and for as long as he could remember, he’d heard stories about the great Jedi Knights of the Old Republic. On many a night, his mother would sit him and his two older sisters down and tell them about their adventures and about the great deeds that they had done for the galaxy. As Daurek grew older, his mother taught him about the dark side and about the current Dark Lord of the Sith, Darth Vader. Even now, Daurek can still remember the nightmares that you had as a child about the dark side.

Daurek’s mother was a kind woman. She had a natural, vibrant touch and although she denied it, she was a true Jedi at heart. She had never attained the status of a Jedi Knight nor as a master, but she had studied the ways of the Force and instead became a philosopher, historian and teacher. When Daurek was still young, his mother was sent to Alderaan to become a member in the House of Alderaan as an aid to Senator Bail Organa.

Daurek’s father was a great tactician within the Old Republic navy, stationed specifically on Alderaan. He would go away on missions with the fleet, sometimes for months. As the day after each trip approached, Daurek would wait in anticipation for him to return, so that he could listen to his stories of far away lands. At the time of the great Purge, when the Emperor started elliminating the Jedi, Daurek’s family went into hiding and joined the rebellion against the Empire. His father enlisted in the Rebel fleet and acted as an officer until about 2 years ago. At this time he retired from the fleet as an active officer, and became an aid to General Dodonna in Rebel High Command.

In the mean time, Daurek’s mother was teaching him at home. His sisters had long gone, so your mother was able to focus her teaching towards him. Daurek was never trained as a Jedi, but was brought up with the concept of the Force. His mother had shown him some Jedi skills, but by the time he joined the Alliance, he had only partially grasped the ways of the Force. Daurek had always wanted to follow in his father’s footsteps and so when he turned 17; he joined the Alliance as an Intelligence Operative working specifically in Special Forces as an Infiltrator.

When Daurek turned 20, he went into officer training. When he completed the training, he was given the initial officer’s rank of Lieutenant First Class and was sent to Heliko as his first field training exercise. There he met with a Rebel Commando, Tanlee Jandaloo, her close companion, Karahaa, a female Wookiee and a computer slicer named Troy Hasulak. As time progressed, they all became close friends and begun to work as a team. After about 4 months, an Imperial spy compromised the cell, and the cell had to be disbanded. The cell was attacked by Imperials but the group managed to escape with the help of a female smuggler, Ledala Korewa and a bounty hunter named Gan-Jan-Ru. Daurek and his team became stationed in the Fakir Sector Force.

Shortly after joining the Fakir Sector Force, more specially Mission Group Alpha, Daurek was taken under the wing of the Alien Student Santhou. Santhou soon after took Daurek on a mission to learn more about the Force. It was because of this mission, that a chain of events were put into play which would end with Daurek falling to the Dark Side.
