SUMMARY:

Val Corestar, having been arrested, escapes in a daring plan to make his way to Cotellier. This action causes several members of both Dragon Squadron and Thermal Force to follow. There, the heroes uncover the Wookiee slavery ring and soon after rescue the Wookiees with the help of a smuggler (and supposed rebel symapthiser) and two of his associates.

STORY:

Event: After completing the missing, Val has a confrontation with his commanding officer, Commander Bakki Romilar. As a result, Val assaults Bakki. Bakki orders the immediate arrest of Val, after which Val is placed in the brig with 2 Imperial technicians.

Event: After a lot of small talk, Val convinces the technicians that he is actually an Imperial sympathiser, and that he has been arrested for assaulting the rebel commanding officer. The convincing is made easier considering that Val is still in the scout trooper armour he was wearing. Some time later, Val realises that there is a power-pack in one of compartments of the scout trooper armour he is wearing, and soon after he and the technicians begin to devise a plan.

Event: Shortly after, Val and the technicians devise a plan to overload the power-pack inside a panel which Val finds near the doorway which should cause the fire alarms to trigger, and consequently cause the doors to open. Val takes off the armour, and initiates the plan.

Event: The plan succeeds except the power-pack explodes prematurely, killing one of the technicians, and injuring the other. In the panic, Val grabs the technician and runs towards the detention block control room. He is confronted along the way by some of the security staff, but through quick thinking, Val convinces the security team that the cell is on fire. The smoke and the alarms coming from the cell assist with Val’s story, and the security team rushes to the cell bays.

Once in the control room, Val is confronted by Kyan who has pre-empted Val’s escape. Suddenly 2 guards enter the room, and Val decides to surrender. Just as suddenly, Kyan stuns the 2 guards much to Val’s surprise. Kyan explains to Val that the members of Thermal Force are going to need his help, and while he is locked away in a prison cell, he is not much use to them. As a result, Kyan hands over the pistol to Val, and tells him to stun him to make it look like a “break-out”, and then wishes Val luck. Val agrees to the plan, and thanks Kyan. Val then fires the pistol, and stuns Kyan unconscious. Val then makes his way to the hanger bay. Along the way, he is forced to stun a technician who he asks for directions to the air-ducts.

Val then sneaks through the air-ducts until he reaches the hanger bay. Once there, he notices that several Wookiees guard the Imperial Shuttle while the rebel forces repair the battered Nebulon-B. In a brave maneuver, Val attaches the sytherope and grappling hook from the trooper utility suit to the wall of the air-vent. Val then drops through the air vent between the Wookiees. The Wookiees are surprised, and in the confusion, accidentally shoot one another. Val frees himself of the sytherope, and begins running towards the shuttle in the hanger bay. One of the Wookiees regains his composure and in an enraged to takes chase.

Upon arrival at the shuttle, the Wookiee is knocked unconscious when Val, who had been able to gain a head-start, stuns it. Val preps the ship, and lifts off with ease. A few moments later, some of the patrolling members of Dragon Squadron receive a message from Bakki to apprehend or destroy the escaping Imperial shuttle. However, before the squadron are able to intercept the shuttle, Val arrives at the edge of the asteroid field, and successfully pilots the shuttle through. Bakki orders the pilots back. Soon after, Val jumps to hyperspace – his destination Cotellier.

Side Event I – All By Myself

Staring: Val

Event: Upon arrival in the Cotellier system, Val is contacted by the Star Destroyer in orbit around the planet. Val convinces the Imperial officer that he is an Imperial Stormtrooper who had escaped the rebel attack, and had come to report what had happened to the commander. Val’s story is believeable enough that he is requested to board the Star Destroyer. When landed, Val is greeted by an Imperial Captain who identifies himself as Captain Drebbick. He then asks for a report. Val gives the story that the Nebulon-B had been attacked, and had been taken by the rebels. He further explains that there was a skirmish, and that he was able to escape aboard the shuttle. Drebbick appears to believe Val’s story, and immediately promotes Val to “Sergeant”. Drebbick then informs Val that he is to take a small contingent of stormtroopers to the surface to scout for rebels in the main city. Val agrees, and makes his way to the barracks, where he quickly changes into stormtrooper uniform. Time Taken: 9 hours G.S.Date/Time: 0900 (1500 Cot.T.) – 35:10:12 Val is then introduced to his troops, and soon after makes his way to the surface aboard an Imperial Sentinel transport. While en route to the planet, Val checks the BoSS records for ships which have arrived in-system in the last day. Just before arrival, he finds the H-Wing and its current whereabouts. Once on the planet, Val breaks the squad of twelve into 4 bands of three, and orders them to patrol the main port. Knowing where the H-Wing is, Val orders the troops into areas away from the H-Wing, allowing him to patrol that area without hindrance. Val observes the 2 enter a back-lot cantina. Some time later, he notices the two leave, and head back to the H-Wing. Val follows the two back to the ship, and a short time later again follows them back to the cantina. A few moments later, the two emerge from the cantina, and once again begin making their way back to the H-Wing. Val then orders the troopers to intercept the two. Event: The group land the H-Wing after being directed to one of the many platforms in the main Starport of Balrona. Once landed, the group plan what roles they would play and what equipment would be taken. After a short discussion, it is decided that the group’s cover will be that of a group of business people, looking for a mate for their Wookiee breeding stock (Karahaa being their number one female breeder). It is decided that Karahaa, while in the city, would be kept on a leash to alleviate suspicion. The group then leave the docking bay, after baying the security droid their docking fees.

Event: As the group enters the city from their docking bay, they are accosted by small children. Tanlee gives some of the children money, while Drayen and Vi do not. Later Vi finds that a few credits are missing out of his pocket. The group begin searching the starport for the whereabouts of the Wookiees. This takes the group to the other side of the city which is reached by a monorail transport. While searching, the group is stopped by a patrol of Stormtroopers who question them and ask for ID. Vi convinces the troopers that he is a Bounty Hunter, and that he is looking for the registration offices to obtain a new licence. The troopers are distracted, and forget Tanlee. The troopers direct Vi to the Imperial Registration Offices in the Central Imperial Tower. The trooper then indicates the tower rising above the city. As the group leave the stormtroopers, Tanlee states that she feels uncomfortable about the tower.

Event: Some time later, the group find a slave auction in progress.

Event: As they arrive, the auction moves to the main event – the sale of Wookiees. Karahaa notices one of the Wookiees to be her cousin Kentara. During the sale, Drayen and Vi move to the front of the crowd to speak with some of the auctioneers, Dorn moves to the rear of the auction house to investigate, while Tanlee and Karahaa mingle with some of the patrons bidding. During the auction, a large number of Wookiees are bought by a wealthy businessman and slave trader, known as Quintarus Returyl. During their investigations, Tanlee finds that most of the Wookiees have been bought by Quintarus to be sold in the Outer Rim Territories for a substantial profit. She also finds that Quintarus is staying at the Dancing Star Dragon Hotel. In an attempt to find the whereabouts of the slavers camp, Vi and Drayen purchase a Wookiee child. When they ask how to pick up their purchase, they are told that the Wookiee would be held at the auctioneer’s slave quarters until 1600 hours (Cotellier Time) tomorrow. They are then given a data-card with the location of the camp. Dorn attempts to ask the guards at the rear of the auction house where to pick Wookiee slaves up from after purchasing them, but is met with hostility from the guards. During the auction, the group organise to rendezvous at the front entrance.

Event: Once there, the group make their plan to rescue the Wookiees. It is decided that Drayen and Vi go into the city, and attempt to find a pilot who would be willing to transport the Wookiees back to Seslont, while Dorn, Tanlee and Karahaa remain at the H-Wing. At dusk, Vi and Drayen leave to find the pilot.

Event: After some searching, Vi and Drayen stumble on a run down cantina in the back-streets of the city.

Event: While at the cantina, Drayen and Vi meet Rick Duel, a pilot and smuggler, and Captain of the Moon Shadow. Rick agrees to the plan for a price. Rick then introduces them to his crew, the Rodian Chihdo, and the Zeltron, Dani. Vi and Drayen organise with Rick and his crew to meet back at this cantina in two hours with a down-payment. During the meeting, Drayen falls for the Dani. Rick agrees, and soon after, Vi and Drayen (although somewhat reluctantly in the case of Drayen) leave for the H-Wing. While on the way back to the H-Wing, Drayen and Vi notice that Imperial troop activity has increased in the starport area.

Side Event II – Blurred Visions

Staring: Tanlee, Karahaa and Dorn

Event: While waiting for Drayen and Vi to return, Tanlee willingly goes to sleep to further investigate the feelings that she experienced from the tower. While Tanlee is asleep, Karahaa and Plif observe for any unusual reactions from Tanlee’s body. In the dream, Tanlee is again wearing white flowing robes, and is in a field covered by rocks. Tanlee turns and notices the same tower from the first dream. Tanlee then turns back towards the rocks, and notices that the rocks have turned into people. Tanlee then walks towards the people and as she enters the crowd, she recognises Ledala from the back. When Tanlee rushes up to her, Ledala turns towards her, and Tanlee is shown Ledala’s featureless face. As Tanlee looks around, she notices that the faces of all the people are featureless. Tanlee begins racing through the crowd, but is then is stopped by a group of people whom are dressed similar to her friends Vi, Gan, Troy, Drayen, Val, Dorn, Kyan, and Kinos Drais. Tanlee notices that the group are standing around a clearing. The group part allowing Tanlee to enter the clearing. In the clearing Tanlee sees a fallen body. The body suddenly turns to once again reveal the face of Daurek Lennisen. Tanlee then notices a loud sinister laugh coming from the tower. This time, Tanlee feels an evil presence coming from the tower. Suddenly, Tanlee notices Daurek’s body begin to decay. Almost as suddenly, Tanlee sees Daurek’s body engulfed by weeds and vines. Tanlee looks around and sees that the bodies of her friends, both current and long gone have also fallen, and have begun to decay. As had Daurek’s body, the bodies of Tanlee’s friends are soon after engulfed by the weeds and vines. As Tanlee stands frozen in shock, the weeds and vines begin to pull her into the ground. Tanlee finds that there is nowhere to run but the tower. As Tanlee runs to the tower, she finds that the tower seems further away. Suddenly, Tanlee trips, and falls to the ground. Event: Meanwhile in the “real world”, Tanlee’s body begins to twist and turn. Plif informs Karahaa that Tanlee is in trouble. Karahaa immediately revives Tanlee. The four then wait for the arrival of Vi and Drayen. While waiting, Tanlee ponders her dream.

Event: Vi and Drayen soon arrive back at the ship, and are told of Tanlee’s experience. Not wanting to remain in the city any longer than is required, Vi and Drayen rush back to the cantina.

Event: Upon arriving at the cantina, the exchange is made, and the coordinates where they would meet are given to Rick.
On the way back to the H-Wing, Drayen and Vi and intercepted by 3 stormtroopers on patrol. When questioned, Drayen and Vi fail to produce any Ids. The 2 are then requested by the troopers to come with them to the Imperial Security office located in the central tower. Using their comlinks, Drayen and Vi inform Karahaa, Tanlee and Dorn of their predicament by expressing their surroundings and actions verbally. Tanlee advises them that they are on their way. Dorn suggests that he prep the ship for immediate take-off. Tanlee and Karahaa agree, and leave to rescue the others. Along the way, the stormtroopers take Drayen and Vi down a narrow alleyway. Suddenly one of the stormtroopers shoots the other 2. The stormtrooper then removes his helmet to reveal Val. Val quickly explains the basics. During the conversation, the group hear sirens in the background, heading in their direction. Val quickly removes the armour, and then using the stormtroopers comlink, advises the Imperials that the “rebels” are fleeing. He then advises the Imperials that the “rebels” are heading in the opposite direction to that which a few moments later, the group heads. Vi informs Tanlee of the current position, and so Karahaa and Tanlee casually make their way back to the H-Wing.

Event: Sometime later, Drayen, Vi and Val arrive at the ship. Vi tells Val the plan, and soon after the group leaves and make their way to the rendezvous point.

Event: Later, the group land in the desert, and soon after travel on foot to the slave quarters. Along the way, Dorn falls behind. Thinking that he is not camouflaged enough, Dorn wraps himself in duct tape, and rolls himself in the sand. He soon catches up, and frightens some of the group after they mistake him for a sand denizen of some kind. The group arrive at the slave quarters, and using stealth, they initiate the plan to blow up the wall of the compound using explosives provided by Vi and Tanlee. While going to place the explosives, Tanlee and Dorn are noticed. Just when the slavers go to attack, the rest of the group attacks. Karahaa and Vi enter the compound, while Tanlee and Dorn set the explosives. Drayen and Val in the meantime give cover. During the battle, Vi throws a grenade into a truck. The truck does not explode, but catches fire. Through the course of the fight, the slavers’ reinforcements arrive, and help with the battle. Vi and Karahaa are caught in melee with a few of the guards, and are both wounded, but not before killing the slavers. The explosion goes off, and the rest of the group rush the compound. One of the trucks begins to drive away, but Drayen shoots one of the axils, and causes the truck to crash. The surviving slavers scatter, as the group enter the compound to rescue the Wookiees. Once inside, Karahaa finds that her father is still missing and was taken away by the Imperials. The group is contacted by the crew of the Moon Shadow to say that they are in position. The group lead the Wookiees to the safety of the Moon Shadow. While leaving the group notice a ship take off from a small building nearby. Val tells the group that he will catch up after he has checked out the building. While walking to the ship, Tanlee collapses. Karahaa sees Tanlee fall, and so rushes to her aid. As she arrives, Karahaa notices a number of burn wounds begin appearing on Tanlee’s body. The Wookiees, Karahaa, and Tanlee are quickly loaded on the Moon Shadow, and soon after the ship lifts off. Tanlee awakens, and finds herself aboard the Moon Shadow. She turns and sees Karahaa who explains what had happened.

Event: Val makes his way to the domed building, and as he enters, he is attacked by 2 “shadows” (Defels). After a wound, and some interesting brawling techniques, Val defeats the Defels. After killing one and knocking one unconscious, Val ties the unconscious Defel up. Val then searches the dome, and finds a secret panel. Upon pressing the panel, Val finds a number of items of worth including a small green statue. Val then searches in the main office, and finds a number of documents pertaining to the slavers profits including bank accounts. Val soon after leaves, and heads back to the H-Wing. Side Event IV – Alternate Visions

Staring: Tanlee
G.S.Date/Time: 1600 (2200 Cot.T.) – 35:10:12

Event: While walking to the ship, Tanlee collapses, and is overwhelmed by a vision. In the dream, everything as it was before. This time however, the weather is hot, and the storm clouds seem stronger somehow. Tanlee feels the tower beckon to her, but keeps her stand, and remains in the field. Suddenly the sinister laugh begins to bellow from the tower top, and a fire sweeps through the field. Tanlee finds herself trapped, and decides to make her way to the rocks, and safety. However, the fire intensifies along her path, and she notices that her only avenue of escape is to go to the tower. Tanlee trusts in the light side of the force as taught to her by Master Adol, but finds that it has no effect. Suddenly, she feels pain from the fire. Tanlee realises that her attempt in the force are futile, and so rushes for the safety of the tower. Once in the tower, she notices that the heat and pain had stopped. Inside, Tanlee also notices a large staircase spiralling up to roof of the tower. Tanlee decides to climb the stair. Almost immediately, without any effort, Tanlee arrives at a pair of ornately crafted doors similar to that of Master Adol’s tower, which Tanlee realises must lead to the roof-top. The doors open, revealing a checker board type platform. At the centre of the platform lies Karahaa being whipped by a young girl. Standing near the girl is a very old man. As Tanlee approaches, the girl stops, and says in Lumiya’s voice: “You know where you must go…” Time Taken: 1 hour G.S.Date/Time: 1600 (2200 Cot.T.) – 35:10:12

Event: Vi, Dorn and Drayen prep the H-Wing while they wait for Val. A short time later, Val arrives carrying a small statue and a case. He explains that he found these in the building after defeating 2 defels. Once Val arrives, the ship quickly takes off. As soon as both the Moon Shadow and the H-Wing leave the atmosphere, they are attacked by Tie Fighters. After a short battle, with the Moon Shadow receiving moderate damage, the two ships jump to hyperspace.

Event: During the trip, Val shows Vi the statue due to his
knowledge of street-lore, and asks him if he knows what it is.
After thinking for a short while, Vi identifies he statue as that
of the Dancing Goddess, a statue that he was asked by Lorrak
to find some time ago.

Event: The group arrive at Seslont to find the Nebulon-B and the Correllian Corvette Lion’s Pride in orbit around the asteroid field. The Wookiees request to be left on Seslont, much to Karahaa’s objections. In the meantime, Val is placed in custody, and is taken aboard the Lion’s Pride. Before leaving Karahaa travels with the Wookiees to the surface aboard the Moon Shadow, and partakes in a Wookiee ceremony of happiness. After the ceremony, Karahaa has a tearful goodbye with her family. Soon after, Rick and his crew take Karahaa back to the Nebulon-B. Rick and his crew are handsomely paid by the rebel and soon after leave the system. A short time later, the Nebulon-B (now manned by a skeleton crew) and the Lion’s Pride both leave for the first jump-off point before Masterhome.
