Dorn Lumsküller, Drayen Tolth, Tanlee, and Val Corestar

SUMMARY:

Danger lurks in the darkness of the Fakir Sector. As the members of Mission Group Alpha journey to the crime world of Arcan IV on a desperate mission to halt operation of the Imperial project Blue Harvest, Lieutenant Tanlee Jandaloo and Kinos Drais have returned to the newly established Masterhome base.

Tanlee, now on the way to becoming a Jedi, has returned to grave news. News that has prompted Fakir Sector Command to dispatch an emergency strike-team. As the Dream Waever touches down on Masterhome, Tanlee is summons by Hannibal Romilar to take part in that mission.

At the meeting, Tanlee is introduced to Drayen Tolth, a respected pilot in the Fakir Fleet, Dorn Lumskuller, a revered Kaldra technician, and Val Corestar, a pilot with a shady past.

Meanwhile, the increase of Imperial activity in the Fakir Sector has not only affected the Rebellion. The increase has begun to cripple several criminal organisations, including those of Lorrak Crude and Eilos Brin.

But now, a new Crimelord has entered the sector. One who seems to have Moff Dorne’s ear, and one who has a vendetta against the Rebellion in the Fakir Sector…

STORY:

Event: After being advised of Thermal Forces current mission to Arcan IV, and after cleaning up, Tanlee is requested to attend and emergency meeting in the main briefing room. In the room is General Romilar, along with a short alien which Tanlee recognises as a Kaldra, a blue skinned near human pilot and a human pilot.

Event: Tanlee is introduced to all of the three.Tanlee is first introduced to Dorn Lumsküller, a revered Kaldraian technician and starfighter engineer. Secondly, she is introduced to Draven Tolth, a Wroonian and well respected pilot who had fought at the battle of Refrax. Lastly, she is introduced to Valerance Corestar, a pilot who has been specifically sent by Rebel Alliance High Command for this mission. Upon being introduced, Major Mers leaves in what seems like disgust. Tanlee recognises Val’s name as that of a pilot who was the commanding officer of Gold Squadron at the Battle of Yavin and who was stood down after arriving drunk to the main briefing. She also remembers that all members of Gold Squadron, bar one were killed. Rumour has it that the officer who was put in Val’s place to command Gold Squadron was unfamiliar with Y-Wings, and had no prior battle experience. General Romilar then explains that the reason for the mission is to receive delivery of a new rebel fighter – the H-Wing. Romilar then requests that Val, as he prefers to be called, explain the purpose of the mission. Val then explains that the H-Wing prototype has been in testing for the past few months. Although not as fast as the B-Wing, the H-Wing has been developed as a countermeasure for the TIE Bomber. Val states that after a few modifications have been made according to his specifications, the second H-Wing has been commissioned. Draven then asks if Alliance High Command has actually listened to him. Val explains that he hopes that the modifications have been made. He then continues, and explains:

“..the main problem with the H-Wing is it’s cost. However due to its arsenal and its toughness against firepower, I have recommend that the H-Wing replace the B-Wing and the primary bomber for the Rebellion, in the hope to prevent further expenditure before the B-wing goes into full production. Some members of Alliance High Commmand are not convinced, include Admiral Akbar. Consequently, High Command has given me the authority to test the H-Wing in the field. This is the reason I will be stationed at “Home” Base, for the time being."

General Romilar then explains that the purpose of the mission is to travel to the starfighter manufacturing facility on Pothor, and accept delivery of the H-Wing which is currently being transported on a Corvette from the Main Rebel Fleet. Romilar introduces Kinos Drais, Captain of the Dream Wæver who agreed to take the group to Pothor. At the end of he meeting, Tanlee introduces Plif the Hoojib to the rest of the group, and to General Romilar. Plif requests that he be allowed to stay with Tanlee on the mission, and for all future missions. General Romilar agrees. Kinos however, seems to be afraid of the creature, and demands that it be kept away from him. Later, the newly formed group board the Kinos’ ship, the Dream Wæver.

Event: Upon arrival at Pothor, the group finds the Pothor Base is heavy with activity. As they enter the system, 4 rebel X-Wings immediately move in to intercept. inos quickly identifies himself as the Dream Wæver, and that he has been sent by General Romilar to take delivery of the H-Wing. Upon arrival, the Commander of the base, General Thoren, immediately briefs the group regarding what had happened. General Thoren tells the group that a few hours ago, an Alliance Corvette, which was transporting the H-Wing, was attacked while enroute to Pothor. There was no warning, and as a result, only a short distress call was received. Communications specialists on Pothor estimated that the transmission originated from somewhere near the Prexiar System, in the Relgim Sector. General Thoren requests that the group travel to Prexiar to see if they can find the Corvette, the H-Wing or the crew. The group agrees. After Val buys a large bottle of champagne and the Dream Wæver is refuelled, the group leaves for Prexiar.

Event: Upon arrival, the Dream Wæver scans for the H-Wing. After some time, Kinos finds a small energy reading from the 4th planet in the system.

Event: Upon checking, the group find a small energy signature in a dense forest. Further investigation reveals that the signature is that of a power generator. Kinos concentrates the sensors in that direction and finds a small pirate base. Unfortunately, the H-Wing nor the corvette are found. Flying close to the forest, Kinos flies the Dream Wæver to the surface below. The group leave the Dream Wæver, leaving Kinos with the ship, and walk through the forest to the base.

Event: When the group arrives at the base they survey the area. They soon find the missing corvette. The group also note that the base is heavily manned with pirates.

Event: The group also notice that the base is surrounded by a large 4 metre fence. After keeping the base under surveillance for an hour, they find that a small stream runs through the base, which could provide an entry. The group sneaks to where the fence meets the stream. While sneaking, Dorn is almost bitten by a reptile, but is saved by Val. When the group arrives at the stream, they find 2 guards on speeder bikes stopped at the stream on the outside of the fence. Keeping quiet, the group wait for them to leave. When they leave, the group make their way to the fence. Val finds a hole just in the bottom of the fence which they should be able to make their way through. Once through the fence, the group make their way to one of the hangers. There they find two Z-95 Headhunters. The group also find that near the hanger is a large mess hall. In the mess hall, the pirates seem to be having a large party to celebrate their victory. Val tells Drayen and Dorn to sneak into the hanger, and cause some type of diversion while Tanlee and himself go to the buildings at the other end of the camp which seem to be prison cells. Tanlee and Val make their way to the other side of the camp. Val pulls the bottle of champagne from his duffel bag, and tells Tanlee to act drunk. The two make their way to the buildings. The two pass by a group of pirates. Val, now with his arm around Tanlee, and his bottle in the other greets the pirates and keeps walking. The drunk pirates think nothing of the two, and they walk past unchallenged. As the two get closer, they realise that what they thought were prison cells were in fact barracks. Doing an about turn, the two make their way between 2 buildings, but not before noticing a large Barabel walk out of one building with 3 other men, and start heading towards the Corvette. As they get to the area between the buildings, there is a massive explosion from the direction of the hanger. Meanwhile Tanlee and Val notice that the two buildings they stand between are a supplies warehouse, and a command building. Tanlee quickly smashes one of the windows in the command centre, and enters. There is a short fire fight with 2 pirates whom are soon killed.

Side Event I – Things That Go Boom in the Night

Staring: Dorn Lumskuller and Drayen Tolth

Event: While Val and Tanlee make their way to the barracks, Drayen and Dorn sneak into the hanger. Upon entering, they soon notice two mechanics working on one of the Headhunters. Drayen sneaks up behind one of the mechanics just as Dorn kicks a spanner across the room. A short hand-to-hand combat occurs, but soon the mechanics are subdued. Dorn then recommends that the Headhunters be jury-rigged to overload. Drayen agrees, and while Dorn prepares the fighters, he ties the mechanics up. While preparing the overload, Dorn trips an additional overload compensator, and tells Drayen to escape as the fighter would explode any minute. Drayen, Dorn and Plif, exit through the front door and run towards the stream as the fighters explode in a massive fireball.

Event: After a short search, Val and Tanlee find a secret trap door. As Tanlee opens the security lock on the door, the door opens and reveals a ladder going down. With weapons drawn, Val goes down into the tunnel. Inside, Val finds a large number of prison cells containing the crew of the corvette. One of the command crew recognises Val, and demands to be released. The Major also accuses Val of being with the pirates. Val then releases all of the crew, and advises them of what the current situation is. Although wary, the crew go along with Val’s plan. In an orderly fashion, Val and Tanlee make their way out of he building and towards the Corvette. As they exit the building, they find that pirates are running in a panicked (and drunken) state. Tanlee and Val both throw smoke grenades to cover their escape towards the corvette. In the meantime, Drayen and Dorn begin making their way towards the corvette. The group soon notice that the corvette has been started up, and that a large portion of the pirates have boarded the ship. The group along with most of the command personnel, board the ship, and after a short fire-fight with some of the pirates equip themselves with weapons. A short time later, the group feel the corvette begin taking off. Val then tells the group and the command personnel to take the bridge. Upon arriving at the bridge, a large battle takes place, where Drayen is wounded along with some of the command personnel. The Major who accused Val of being a pirate is killed during the battle. At the end of the battle, the Barabel is left standing and is soon knocked unconscious by a mass of gun fire.

Event: Some time later, after all of the pirates are rounded up, the group go to the Corvette’s cargo bay. Inside, Val finds the H-Wing. Val then pulls the champagne bottle again from his duffel bag, and smashes it against the hull of the H-Wing. Val then calls the ship – Juanita. Kinos is contacted, and a short time later arrives in the Dream Wæver at the pirate camp. The crew of the corvette, along with the group load most of the important supplies “provided” by the pirates aboard the corvette. Some time later, the corvette lifts off, and leaves for Pothor.

Event: The H-Wing, and the Dream Wæver arrive at Masterhome, and soon after land on “Home” Base. Tanlee is re-united with her friends in Thermal Force, while Val and Drayen are ordered to take their places in the newly formed – Dragon Squadron. Dorn also takes his place as the chief technician of Dragon Squadron. Tanlee introduces her new friend Plif to the Thermal Force. After a few days of rest, the members of Thermal Force and Dragon Squadron are brought together to discuss the current situation with crew rosters, and problems with the current operation of established Mission Groups.

Event: As a result, it is decided that the members of Dragon Squadron would attend at Pothor for flight training, while the members, both part time and full time, of Thermal Force would return to Ksift in the Mortex Sector for training by General Airen Cracken.
Gan, Ledala, Vi, Tanlee, Karahaa, Bordo and Anthauna travel on the Moon Swing to Ksift, while Drayen, Val, Dorn and Kyan travel to Pothor for flight training.
