SUMMARY:

Part 2 of a 5 part story arc dealing with the discovery by Tanlee and other members of Thermal Force that Zennox, Tanlee’s Homeworld, has been taken control by the Empire. In this episode the plan to rescue the members of the resistance is put into play. The members of Thermal Force travel to the main city of Koradan to slice a computer virus into the Imperial mainframe to give them access to the Imperial Headquarters. This plan, Thermal Force hopes, will give them time to perform a daring raid on the Headquarters which will cause a distraction, enabling the waiting rebel fleet to enter the system and rescue the members of the Zennox resistance. It is not until Tanlee and the others visit the city of Targe and discover the extent of resistance’s plight and that time is running out…

Event: The group arrives in the Zennox system. The Moon Swing’s transponder is changed over to Vandolar Key prior to arrival.

Event: Troy detects on sensors, an Imperial Strike Cruiser in orbit around Zennox. To make it look inconspicuous, Ledala keeps a standard approach flight pattern. The Moon Swing is hailed by the Cruiser, and identifies itself as Carross I. Carross I also tells the group to hold their position, and a Customs frigate will board shortly for inspection. Ledala powers down, and the group prepares for the inspection, as an Imperial Customs Frigate is seen emerging from Carross I. All of the illegal items (and people) are placed in the secret compartments.

Event: A short time later, the Frigate clamps onto the Moon Swing, and the Moon Swing is boarded by 5 stormtroopers, 2 technicians and an Imperial officer, Commander Pritaal. The ship is checked, especially the ship’s cargo manifest. Ledala tells the Imperial officer that she and her crew are searching for cargo, and that is why there is no cargo on-board. She also informs the commander that they are on their way to Lorrak’s palace, as she has heard of some good bargains to be had there. A sensor array is brought on board by the Imperials. After about an hour of checking, the ship is cleared, and the Imperials leave the Moon Swing. The Moon Swing is then released from the Customs Frigate, and the group is allowed to continue to the surface.

Event: Upon arriving in the atmosphere, the group heads for Lorrak’s palace with the intention of not flying to the palace, but using this action as a decoy. As the group approaches the palace, the palace launches four Z-95 Headhunters, not recognising the Moon Swing, as the transponder code of the Vandolar Key has not been deactivated.

Event: Ledala quickly changes it over, and contacts the palace. The palace tower asks for a reason why Ledala wishes to visit the palace. Ledala states that she has changed her mind. She then flies the Moon Swing away from the palace, and heads for the mountains surrounding the palace. Using the mountains as a cloak, to stop the Imperials from tracking the Moon Swing, Ledala pilots the ships towards the ruined city of Targe. The group arrives at Targe. The plan is for the Moon Swing to return to Targe in 1 hour after dropping off Tanlee and Karahaa. Tanlee and Karahaa are dropped off at the city, while the others venture into the mountains to seek sensor cover.

Side Event I – Needle in a Haystack

Staring: Gan Jan-Ru, Ledala, Vi, and Troy

Event: The group, on board the Moon Swing, find shelter in a small valley in the mountains. After landing, the group quickly don environmental suits and begin to camouflage the Moon Swing with broken tree branches. Ledala hopes that the valley and the branches, combined with the darkness will protect the Moon Swing from Imperial sensor and visual sweeps. A short time before the 1 hour mark, the group prepares for lift-off, but Troy detects a number of TIE fighters doing sensor sweeps of the area. The group decides to stay for 2 hours, until the sweep is completed. Time Taken: 1 hour G.S.Date/Time: 0700 (0600 Ze.T.) – 35:05:22 Event: After 2 hours, and after the TIE have gone, the group takes off and travels to the ruined city of Targe, while advising Tanlee and Karahaa the reason for the delay. A short time later, the group arrives at Targe and is greeted by Tanlee, Karahaa and Koran. Sensor resistant covers are placed over the Moon Swing by members of the Resistance. Side Event II – Meeting with Resistance

Event: Tanlee and Karahaa meet with Koran, the leader of the resistance in Targe. Koran shows Tanlee and Karahaa the devastation that has been caused by the volcanic explosion, mixed with the ruptured reactor core, especially on the people. He shows them the large rooms which have been converted into a gigantic morgue. G.S.Date/Time: 0600 (0500 Ze.T.) – 35:05:22 Event: He further shows them the “living dead” that scatter the corridors of the underground tunnels. Tanlee requests an audience with the council, to inform them of a plan put together by the Rebel Alliance to rescue the resistance members and their families from Targe, and take them to a safe-world, where they may be cared for. Koran agrees with the plan. Koran then tells Tanlee and Karahaa that a suggestion of sorts has been placed before the council, prior to the group’s arrival, and the response, was mixed. Some said that they would prefer to stay and fight, some said that they wanted to flee, and others said that they did not know which way to go. Koran further states that the council was convening that evening, but was not sure wether the council would “hear” the group’s plan. In the meantime, Tanlee and Karahaa offer to help with the sick, and the storing of the bodies. Tanlee and Karahaa are contacted by the Moon Swing, shortly before the arrival of the Moon Swing and are told of the delay due to the TIE patrol. Tanlee and Karahaa, along with Koran, go to greet the group as they arrive in the Moon Swing. Koran then orders some of the troops to cover the Moon Swing with the sensor resistant nets. Event: Karahaa goes and helps with the sick, while the others go to the main computer centre in the heart of the Targe resistance underground. Troy gains access to the main city’s (Koradan) Central Computer Network. While inside, Troy gains access to the Imperial Security Net, but is unable to break some of the coded files.

Event: Tanlee offers to go to another terminal and see if she can break some of the codes as well. Gan Jan-Ru offers to help, and both Tanlee and Gan go to another terminal on the other side of the compound. Tanlee attempts to enter the Computer Network, but is unsuccessful. The two then return to the Main Computer Room where Troy is still working on the Security Net. During the time that Troy is hacking in the computer, Tanlee finds herself wanting to go outside, and walks away from the group. Vi and Ledala notices that Tanlee is missing, and follow her, but do not contact Karahaa. Eventually, Vi and Ledala follow Tanlee to the environmental airlock. Tanlee then gets into an environmental suit, and when Ledala asks her where she is going, Tanlee replies that she wants to go outside. Tanlee then enters the airlock, and goes outside. Ledala and Vi then also don environmental suits, and follow Tanlee. While outside, Tanlee feels the urge to attack the others, but fights off the mental attack and collapses. Vi and Ledala then take the unconscious Tanlee back inside the compound.

Event: After a rest, the group, with Tanlee in charge, meet with the council.

Event: During the meeting, the group is blamed by some members of the council for bringing this whole problem onto the city. Tanlee tells the council that the people of Targe who wanted to stay and fight, would be better to evacuate the city, and join the Rebellion. That way, they could return some day, more healthy and better trained, to continue the fight. After a long debate, the council agrees to the plan put forward by the group, and declares that preparations be made by the people to evacuate.

Event: The group then gets together and discusses the details of the plan.

Event: Troy agrees to implement a virus into the Imperial network, and is successful. Troy tells the group that the virus can be activated from any system in the Imperial network by a single word command. He then gives each member the command word.

Event: The group then prepares to travel to Koradan to find further information. The group then leaves Targe, after Tanlee assures Koran and the leaders of the Resistance that the group’s mission will be successful, and the Rebellion will arrive soon to start the evacuation.
