SUMMARY:

Part 1 of a 5 part story arc dealing with the discovery by Tanlee and other members of Thermal Force that Zennox, Tanlee’s Homeworld, has been taken control by the Empire. In this episode, Thermal Force travels to Zennox to locate other black markets operating on the world, along with checking on the status of the Zennox Resistance. It is not long before a member of the resistance contacts Tanlee with a plea for help. It is only now that the members of Thermal Force realise that the base which they had previously destroyed was leaking radiation and was consequently affecting the city of Targe. Armed with this information, Thermal Force makes plans to rescue the resistance members and save the day…

Event: The group arrives at Zennox. The group finds that space traffic is no where near as busy as normal on Zennox, and also finds that Imperial activity has increased. The group decides to travel to the main city on Zennox, Koradan. Using her new transponder code on the Moon Swing, Ledala registers the ship under the name of “Vandolar Key”. The Moon Swing lands in the main city of Koradan, docking at platform 82A.

Event: Gan Jan-Ru and Vi leave the Moon Swing, and adventure into the city in attempt to find the Black Market, while Ledala, Tanlee, Troy and Karahaa perform maintenance checks on the Moon Swing. Gan Jan-Ru goes through customs without incident due to his Bounty Hunter ID. Vi gives Gan his blaster prior to leaving the ship, to prevent any “unnecessary entanglements”. Once inside the city, Gan Jan-Ru gives the blaster back to Vi. Karahaa feels compelled to contact “Home”, but decides that it is too risky to contact “Home” from Koradan, due to the increase in Imperial activity. Gan Jan-Ru and Vi during their investigations make contact with an info-merchant who informs them that no black market exists in the city due to the Imperial restrictions. The merchant also tells them that there is a black market on the planet, but it all operates at Lorrak’s Palace.

Event: Ledala and Tanlee investigate the area surrounding the docking bay to make sure that the Moon Swing didn’t bring any attention to itself. A short time later, Gan Jan-Ru returns to the Moon Swing without Vi. Gan Jan-Ru tells the others that Vi forgot to give back his blaster, and while going through the customs checks, was arrested.

Event: Vi is thrown into a questioning room, and spoken to by a Lt. Ren, who asks Vi to contact his friend that he was seen with in the starport. Vi soon contacts the Moon Swing. Lt Ren speaks with Gan Jan-Ru who says that Vi is actually an assistant. Ren seems to not believe Gan’s story, and so Gan asks to meet with him at the police station. Gan Jan-Ru soon arrives and speaks with Lt. Ren, who seems to have a habit of recording everything. Gan explains that Vi is his apprentice. Gan is informed that even an apprentice must have an IPKC licence, to which Gan agrees. After a large payment of credits (“fees”), Vi is released, and is given a provisional IPKC licence, with the conditions that while he is acting as a bounty hunter, he must be in the company of Gan Jan-Ru. Vi is pleased with this arrangement, and both soon leave, and return to the Moon Swing.

Event: The group then leave the city, and travel to Lorrak’s Palace. The group arrives at Lorrak’s Palace, and Ledala switches the transponder back to the Moon Swing.

Event: After waiting a few hours for the markets to open, Ledala goes to see Lorrak. Tanlee and Karahaa venture into the black market looking for members of the Zennox Resistance. Gan Jan-Ru and Vi go into the black market as well to begin selling their cargo, and to make a few purchases. Troy remains with the ship, and his R2 unit.

Side Event I – Ledala’s Meeting

Event: Ledala makes a request for an audience to see Lorrak, and is asked to wait for some time. After waiting for some time, Ledala attends the court of Lorrak for the purpose of making a loan payment. Unusual, considering the time since the loan was last paid, Lorrak accepts the payment. While walking up to the throne of Lorrak, Ledala also notices a man talking discretely to one of Lorrak’s assistants behind a curtain, but does not recognise him. Ledala makes the payment, and then leaves. A short time later, Ledala receives an urgent call for assistance from Vi and Gan, who have being attacked by Bounty Hunters. Side Event II – The Resistance Contact

Staring: Tanlee and Karahaa

Event: Tanlee and Karahaa search the black market for a contact. Tanlee and Karahaa make contact with a member of the resistance. He seems dishevelled, and has what appear to be burns on his arms and face. He explains to them that the burns are from the radiation which is spreading over the city of Targe, where the resistance is based. The contact also requests that some type of rescue mission be attempted soon, as the resistance is loosely linked to the Rebel Alliance. The contact then leaves Tanlee and Karahaa, and soon after, Vi and Gan Jan-Ru, who are in trouble and being attacked by Bounty Hunters, contact the two. Side Event III – Weapons of War

Staring: Gan Jan-Ru and Vi

Event: Vi and Gan Jan-Ru investigate the market and find that the market is very quiet, and Imperial troops can be found performing patrols. The two also notice that patrols are unfrequented, and the troops seem uninterested in the goings on. After asking a few questions, the two find that there are patrols only once every very few hours, and their mere presence, no matter how scarce, has caused a number of “businessmen” take their wares elsewhere. Vi and Gan soon contact their friend who deals in weapons. A deal takes place and the two sell the load of weapons to the merchant. Also, the merchant performs minor adjustments to the pair’s weapons of choice. Arrangements are made to exchange the goods. Gan and Vi return to the Moon Swing to begin unloading the weapons. While unloading the weapons, Gan and Vi are approached by a group of “hunters”, who ask Vi if he is the one who goes by the name of “Vi”. Vi asks who was asking. The hunters attack, and a brief battle ensues in which the hunters are killed. The rest of the group is contacted and told to rendezvous at the Moon Swing. On checking the bodies, Vi finds a patch on one the hunters clothing which resembles Lorrak’s symbol. Time Taken: 1 hour G.S.Date/Time: 1400 (0900 Ze.T.) – 35:05:14

Event: The group soon come together and board the Moon Swing. The stories of the three groups are brought together and it is established that Lorrak had sent the hunters. During the battle also, it seemed that the Hunters were mainly interested in Vi. A short time later, the group, in particular Ledala, is contacted by Lorrak. Lorrak explains that he is aware of the bounty placed on the head of certain members of the group. He explains that he could “cash-in” on the bounties, but would prefer to “help” Ledala in this, her moment of need. In turn, Lorrak doubles the payments, and guarantees protection for Ledala and the rest of the group while in his palace. Vi and Gan Jan-Ru begin unloading the weapons and take them to the buyer. The buyer returns their now modified weapons and payment for the weapons.

Event: Ledala is approached by a smuggler who claims to be an old friend, Jock McCraven. Jock explains that he is an old friend of Ledala’s father. He further explains that he knows that Ledala is in trouble and might want some extra work on the side. He soon explains the plight of the residents of Demophon, a planet whose sun is expected to go nova in the coming months. Ledala explains that she is in a rush, and that she would love to stay, but ushers him off the Moon Swing.

Event: The group arrives at the point sent in the message to “Home” for pick-up. The group finds that “Home” is not in sight, and not in sensor range. The group waits for the arrival of “Home”, and finds that “Home” does not show. Normally the group may have to wait for the slower “Home” Fleet, but after some time, the group becomes anxious and concerned. Also a major concern to the group at this point is fuel, as Ledala points out that the Moon Swing does not have enough fuel to take them to the nearest system, a mere 12 hours away.

Event: Troy makes a number of sensor checks and finds a comm-channel which seems to be transmitting an intermittent pulse, which could be caused by a faulty transponder regulator. Troy informs Ledala of this, and requests that she fly to where Troy thinks that the transmission is coming from.

Event: A short time later, Ledala notices a strange object in front of them, out of sensor range. As the Moon Swing comes closer, the group see what they believe to be a Corellian Corvette. Ledala send a message, and activates the second transponder code of that of the Vandolar Key.

Event: The ship soon comes into sensor range, and Troy identifies it as a Corellian Corvette. Immediately that the ship is identified, 5 fighter type craft are launched from it, and a short time later, a Lambada class shuttle is also deployed. The ships are soon identified by Troy as 3 X-wing fighters, and 2 Y-wing fighters. The X-wings cross the bow of the Moon Swing, and the Y-wings fire using ion cannons, disabling the Moon Swing. The Moon Swing is boarded, by rebels and the group is discovered. The rebels apologise, and say that they thought that either the group was dead or had been captured after they failed to rendezvous with the fleet at Fangol. As a result, when the message from the Moon Swing was received, they believed that either the group was still alive, or the Empire had captured the group. Fearing the worst, the “Home” fleet set in motion a plan in case the Imperials had captured the Moon Swing, and deciphered the Rebel coding in messages sent previously from the ship. If this had been done, the Imperials could have sent a decoy to compromise the location of “Home”. General Romilar sent the Corellian Corvette, “Forever Star” (from the Fakir Sector Fleet) with a flight of X and Y wings to intercept any craft that showed up. The Forever Star jumps to the rendezvous coordinates with the Home Fleet.

Event: The group arrives at the “Home” fleet. The group meets with Hannibal Romilar and they inform him of what has occurred. Vi is promoted to the rank of Lieutenant 2/C, Karahaa to Chief Medical Officer, Tanlee to Sergeant, Gan Jan-Ru to honorary rank of Master Sergeant, and Ledala to honorary rank of Lieutenant 2/C. The group, with Hannibal, discuss plans to return to Zennox in force to rescue the inhabitants of the Zennox Rebel Resistance. The group decides that the only way to rescue the inhabitants of the ruined city is to cause a diversion, so that the Rebel transports can get onto the planet. The group is aware of the Imperial garrison on the planet and the plan is made to infiltrate the garrison, and shut it down. Firstly, though, the group must go to the ruined city, and inform the resistance leaders of the plan. Hannibal agrees with the plan, and says that the fleet will be waiting just outside the Zennox system. When the garrison has been disabled, the group is to contact the “Home” fleet, and they will begin to move in, and hopefully, evacuated the inhabitants. The group is asked if they wish to have some type of celebration in honour of their promotion. The group declines stating that there is a lot of preparations to be performed prior to the mission. The group prepares for the mission to Zennox. The group is also given the help of a technician, Xenger Gordenez, who agrees, in case of an emergency, to fly the Moon Swing if it needs to be left behind. During preparations, the “Home” Fleet jump to hyperspace, and shortly after, arrive at a point a short distance away from the Zennox system.
